From the warehouses to the Carrousel des Mondes Marins and the Machines Gallery, the entire Machines de l’île site will sparkle with a thousand lights.
The site will once again be bustling in Christmas atmosphere, with illuminations, heartwarming food and a programme of arts and performance… the magic of Christmas awaits all at the Nefs for the end-of-year festive season.

Sculpture on Ice

Sculptors from La Compagnie La Machine will be at work for all to see in the public space of the warehouses. This year again, their creations from ice will explore the world of trees and the canopy, and will be visible every afternoon.

Makeme Workshops

Makeme has been specialised in organising events involving new technologies for the last ten years. This Christmas, it will transform the Nefs into a laboratory of experiences, offering several fun and exciting educational workshops for young people. Even the youngest children can join in.
- Nerdy Derby Workshop: Create toy cars using screws, bolts, washers, cardboard and wood and try them out on the Nerdy Derby track.
- Ker-kanaveral Workshop: Create a paper space rocket using a sheet of A4 paper, some adhesive tape and a tube of PVC glue and place it on the launch pad!
- Customise your T-Shirt Workshop: Cut out and create your logos, motifs and texts and then transfer them onto a T.shirt with a heat press.
- Shadow Puppets Workshop: Equipped with paper, scissors, craft knife and chopsticks, you’ll bring your creations to life, with a choice of three themes!

This small traditional merry-go-round features 12 marine animals to ride on, all carved entirely by hand from wood.
The carousel was created in 2000 by Emmanuel Bourgeau, the former head of carpentry of La Compagnie La Machine on the Ile de Nantes.
